  2. The iPhone XR and iPhone 11 were the top selling smartphones globally in 2019, according to a new report from Counterpoint Research. The iPhone 11 coming in second place is particularly impressive as it was on the market for less than four months that year.

    Out of the top ten models, Apple captured six places with iPhone XR being the top-selling model globally in 2019, capturing a 3% market share. Apple is followed by Samsung with three models, all from its A series, among the top 10.

    The only device in the top ten not from Apple or Samsung was the OPPO A5 which took fifth place.

    The Verge notes that the ad is made up of clips from popular anime including Mr. Osomatsu, New Game!, Keroro Gunsou, Your Name, Weathering With You, and more.

  5. Apple's seventh generation iPad is on sale for just $249.99 today. The tablet features a 10.2-inch display, Apple's A10 Fusion chip, Touch ID, an 8MP camera, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Apple Pencil support.

  7. An FCC filing published today reveals that Ecobee's upcoming security camera will feature Apple HomeKit support.

    Spotted by Zatz Not Funny!, the label sample submitted by ecobee to the FCC features a HomeKit code.

    One would reasonably expect traditional connected camera capabilities such as motion detection and notifications, but the Alexa mics take ecobee to another level as a dual purpose device. And now, with HomeKit confirmed, functionality could be pushed over the top.

New and existing Altice One users can select Apple TV 4K as part of their package by purchasing a device directly from the Optimum and Suddenlink websites or by visiting select retail stores. The Apple TV 4K is available through monthly finance offers starting as low as $10 per month, or for $180.   9. Lady Gaga's new music video for 'Stupid Love' was shot entirely on the iPhone 11 Pro. Apple highlighted the video in a clip posted to its YouTube channel today.

    Excluding 'A Star is Born', this is Lady Gaga's first new solo single since 2017. The music video was directed by Daniel Askill.

  10. Apple is planning to release an iPad Pro Smart Keyboard with a built-in TrackPad later this year, according to a new report from the The Information.

    Apple is preparing the keyboard for mass production, and one of its main manufacturers is Foxconn Technology, the Taiwanese contractor that makes most of the world’s iPhones, the person said. The company will likely release the accessory alongside the next version of the iPad Pro expected later this year, the person added.

    The keyboard would help Apple better position the tablet as a laptop alternative.
